The Doofus is a CSS stand-in for the modelled clay character. It tracks the cursor, blinks, flinches on fast scroll, sleeps after 20s idle, and plays trip, hop, walk, look, point, nod, confused, thumbs-up and wave.
Three hero treatments are switchable in Tweaks: stacked, split, outline. Reduced motion and this appendix are tweaks too.
